Since the Great Depression of 1929-33, none of the recessions our country has gone through have had this great of a length or depth.

The report details changes in American ideas and expectations emerging from what they call the Great Recession. “The Great Recession has led a new frugality in their spending and borrowing habits; and a concern that it could take several years, at a minimum, for their house values and family finances to recover.

Although, on a positive note the report states that most Americans optimistically agree that a house is the best long-term investment an average person can make.
